Under Title 28, United States Code (U.S.C.), Section (§) 534 and 34 U.S.C. § 41303, this collection requests incident-based
data from law enforcement agencies in order for the FBI UCR Program to collect and disseminate NIBRS data.
For this extension, the respondents’ annual burden was calculated using the actual number of months (1-12) for which the respondents submitted data. An additional 300 hours were added to the burden to cover state UCR Program and local LEA outreach. Burden hours are expected to increase as the FBI UCR Program transitions to a NIBRS-only data collection in January 2021 and additional agencies begin submitting data via NIBRS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
