Abstract: Natural Gas STAR is an EPA-sponsored, voluntary program that encourages natural gas companies to adopt cost effective methods for reducing methane emissions. The program targets natural gas production, storage, transmission, and distribution companies. Participation in the program begins with the completion and submittal to EPA of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines responsibilities of the Natural Gas STAR partner & EPA.
