Abstract: This survey provides State government finance data and estimates of local government revenue, expenditure, debt, and assets by type of government, nationally and within State areas. The data are needed to calculate the government sector of the economy and to formulate, develop, and review public policy. Federal agencies, State and local governments, and the private sector use these data. The respondents to this survey are State and local government officials.
