Abstract: THE EXPERIMENTS ARE LABORATORY STUDIES OF THE COGNITIVE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN REPORTING CHRONIC PAIN EPISODES, LIFE HISTORY EVENTS, AND DIETARY INTAKE, AND COGNITIVE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN RESPONSE ERRORS BY THE ELDERLY. THE RESULTS WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP IMPROVED QUESTIONING PROCEDURES FOR SEVERAL NCHS SURVEYS.
