Abstract: DIET RESEARCH. OBESITY IS A MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES THESE REGULATIONS PROVIDE FOR LABELING TO ENABLE THOSE MILLIONS OF INDIVIDUALS WHO NEED TO CONTROL THEIR WEITHT TO IDENTIFY AND EVALUA PARTICULAR FOODS WHICH MAY HELP THEM ATTAIN AND MAINTAIN THEIR DESIRED WEIGHT WITHIN THE LIMITS OF A BALANCED AND NUTRITIOUS DIET PROGRAM.
