Abstract: OBESITY IS A MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES. THESE REGULATIONS PROVIDE FOR LABELING TO ENABLE THOSE MILLIONS OF PERSONS WHO NEED TO CONTROL THEIR WEIGHT AND IDENTIFY AND EVALUATE PARTICULAR FOODS WHICH MAY HELP THEM ATTAIN AND MAINTAIN DESIRED WEIGHT WITHIN THE LIMITS OF A BALANCED AND NUTRITIOUS DIET PROGRAM
