Abstract: SURVEY IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF COMPREHENSIVE INDUSTRY DATA ON POLLUTION ABATEMENT CAPITAL EXPENDITURES, OPERATING COSTS, AND COSTS RECOVERED. AMONG THE DATA USERS IS THE BUREAU OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS FOR THE NATIONAL INCOME ACCOUNTS, USED TO MEASURE SHARE OF CAPITAL STOCKS NOT AVAILABLE FOR INDUSTRIAL EXPANSION AND MODERNIZATION.
