Abstract: FDA PROPOSES TO ESTABLISH A GENERAL STANDARD OF IDENTIFY FOR "CERTAIN OTHER CHEESES" APPLICABLE TO ALL CHEESES NOT COVERED BY INDIVIDUAL VARIETAL STANDARDS OF IDENTIFY. IN ADDITION TO COMPOSITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, IT WILL PROVIDE FOR A UNIFORM LABELING SCHEME FOR THESE FOODS WHICH SHOULD ASSIST CONSUMERS IN THE SELECTION OF CHEESE VARIETI WHICH MAY BE NEW TO THEM.
