Abstract: FDA PROPOSED TO ESTABLISH A GENERAL STANDARD OF IDENTIFY FOR "CERTAIN OTHER CHEESES", APPLICABLE TO ALL CHEESES NOT COVERED BY INDIVIDUAL VARIETAL STANDARDS OF IDENTITY. IN ADDITION TO COMPOSITION REQUIREMENTS, IT WILL PROVIDE FOR A UNIFORM LABELING SCHEME FOR THESE FOODS WHICH WILL ASSIST CONSUMERS IN THE SELECTION OF CHEESE VARIETIES WHICH MAY BE NEW TO THEM.
