Title 29 CFR 29 sets forth labor standards to safeguard the welfare of apprentices and to extend the application of such standards by prescribing policies and procedures concerning registration of apprenticeship. This information collection, ETA 671, has two sections: the first records the sponsor's information and the second is for the apprentice's information, filled out by the sponsor based on employment records. The submission is reviewed and signed by the state agency/ Office of Apprenticeship. The information is collected on a one-time basis.
US Code:
29 USC 50
Name of Law: The National Apprenticeship Act
This ICR is being renewed without changes and has only been modified to account for adjustments in the number of programs, sponsors, and SAAs as well as in the costs associated with the burden estimates for this information collection. The number of responses has increased by 109,465 (from 957,452 to 1,066,917). The annual burden for this information collection increased from 521,964 to 522,623 hours resulting in an increase of 659 hours over ETA’s previous estimate, which OMB approved through June 30, 2024. The Department has lowered the burden hours for compliance with the affirmative action requirements due to the deployment of an Affirmative Action Builder Tool in RAPIDS that helps sponsors automate the required analysis.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).

If you are unable to certify compliance with any of these provisions, identify the item by leaving the box unchecked and explain the reason in the Supporting Statement.
