O nl y Frequently Asked Questions This survey provides Congress with accurate estimates of the time and money taxpayers spend to follow federal tax rules and regulations. Tax administrators and policy makers use this information to reduce and manage taxpayer burden. By taxpayer burden, we mean all of the time and money spent during the course of the year by you, your spouse, business employees, friends, or relatives to complete your 2018 individual federal income tax return.
