Abstract: The Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is proposing additional data collection activity as part of the Procedural Justice Informed Alternatives to Contempt Demonstration (PJAC). In September 2016, OCSE issued grants to six child support agencies to provide alternative approaches to the contempt process with the goal of increasing reliable child support payments and confidence in the child support agency and its processes. The purpose of the PJAC demonstration project is to assess the feasibility and efficacy of incorporating principles of procedural justice into child support services as a cost-effective alternative to civil contempt proceedings. The PJAC Demonstration will add to the evidence base on innovations in child support practices by evaluating PJAC’s impacts and determining whether the benefits of PJAC services exceed their costs. The PJAC Evaluation includes three key components: an implementation study, an impact study, and a benefit-cost study. Information collection related to PJAC was initially approved January 2018. This current request include an extension for previously approved materials and approval of four additional instruments.
