The Federal Communication Commission's (Commission's) rules effective Nov. 30, 2019 require that Participating CMS providers (providers) be able to direct Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) to 100% of a target geographic area specified by an alert originator with no more than a 0.1 mile overshoot (enhanced geo-targeting). The FCC seeks to perform an information collection to evaluate the accuracy and performance of providers' enhanced geo-targeting implementations shortly after this date.
This is a new information collection resulting in a program change/increase to the total number of respondents of 12,000, total annual responses of 14,000 and total annual burden hours of 3,500 hours. These estimates will be added to OMB’s Active Inventory.
