Abstract: This information collection helps BIA allocate resources for contracts with Tribal organizations, States, public school districts, and Indian corporations who provide eligible Indian students programs to meet their specialized and unique educational needs, including programs supplemental to the regular school program and school operational support to maintain established educational standards.

Short Statement: The annual burden hours of 11,450 are program changes due to the new statute (JOM Modernization Act), which require regulatory updates with information collection requirements. This information collection was previously approved under the former regulations, but was then discontinued because of a lack of program funding to fully implement the program. With the passage of the new statute (JOM Modernization Act), BIE is updating its regulations and is requesting approval for the information collection requirements included in those regulations.
