The Job Search Assistance (JSA) Strategies Evaluation (hereafter, JSA Evaluation) is funded by the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S Department of Health and Human Services. The goal of the JSA Evaluation is to determine what type of job search assistance strategies are most effective in helping Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other cash assistance applicants and recipients find employment and increase their earnings. The JSA Evaluation contains both an impact study and an implementation study. To date, the impact study has randomly assigned individuals to contrasting JSA approaches. The study will then compare participant employment and earnings to determine the relative effectiveness of these strategies in moving TANF recipients to work and increasing their earnings. The evaluation will also report on the implementation of these strategies, including measures of services received under each JSA approach, and operational lessons.
This submission seeks OMB approval for the continuation of the JSA six-month follow-up survey instrument. There are no changes requested to this survey. All other information collection under 0970-0440 will be complete by the original OMB expiration date of February 28, 2018.
