Abstract: The initial goal of this survey is to collect county-level surveillance records of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, the vectors that transmit Zika Virus. Information will aid in 1) targeting vector control efforts to prevent mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission in the continental U.S. and 2) targeting future vector surveillance efforts. CDC now requests to expand the project to prospectively include county and sub-county level data and to monitor the susceptibility and resistance of resident populations of mosquitoes to insecticides. Information will aid in targeting vector control efforts to prevent mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission in the continental U.S.
