Abstract: The 2017 AHS provides a periodic measure on the quality, availability, and cost of housing for the country and 25 supplemental metropolitan areas. The study also provides information on demographic and other characteristics of the occupants. Federal and local agencies use AHS data to evaluate housing issues.

Short Statement: We expect the respondent burden to decrease, because the sample size in 2017 is smaller than in 2015. The sample will be split into two groups. Fifty percent of the sample will be asked the Commuting module. The other 50 percent will be asked the Disaster Planning module. This will maximize the number of rotating modules that can be included while not increasing overall response burden.
