Terms of Clearance: Prior to the commencement of the 2017 Economic Census Industry Classification Report distribution, the Census Bureau shall provide on its Internet site prominent links to the finalized survey, including instructions and cover letters, comparable to those provided for the 2012 Economic Census. The final survey and letters shall reflect any changes in the survey year, OMB number expiration date, and Census leadership from those submitted for review.

Abstract: The Industry Classification Report collects information on businesses to obtain proper industry classification. This information is used to update the sampling frame for the 2017 Economic Census and other current business surveys. In fiscal years 2016 and 2017, the Census Bureau will contact 125,000 establishments that have been assigned a partial NAICS code from administrative records to determine a complete industry classification.
