The Commission applied previously-adopted rules to wireless carriers. Such rules are designed to make consumers' telecommunications bills easier to read and understand, and were adopted in response to consumers' difficulties in understanding their bills, detecting fraud, resolving billing disputes, and comparing carrier rates to get the best value for themselves
Due to the changes in the total number of wireline and wireless telecommunications carriers as a result of changes and trends in the telecommunications marketplace, the Commission has re-evaluated its previous burdens associated with this information collection and notes the following adjustments in associated burdens and costs described herein:
The number of respondents decreased -37 telecommunications carriers from the prior total of 4,484 wireline and wireless telecommunications carriers to the current total of 4,447 wireline and wireless telecommunications carriers; the number of annual responses increased by +609, 36,090 to 36,699 responses; and the annual burden hours increased by +55,731 from 2,074,174 to 2,129,905 hours.
There are no program changes.
With this submission, the Commission used data from FCC Form 499-A filings to reexamine and reevaluate the data in this supporting statement.
