Abstract: Operators of United States (U.S.) purse seine vessels fishing for tuna in the eastern Pacific Ocean are required (50 CFR 300.22) to maintain logbooks of catch and effort. Information requirements include the date, noon position, and tonnage of fish on board by species. The data collected is used to meet U.S. obligations to the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) and for the management of tuna stocks.

Short Statement: Adjustments: The decrease of responses by 120 and hours by 10, and the net decrease in annual cost burden of $11.44 is due to a reduction in the estimated number of part time vessels participating in the fishery that are required to send in logbooks (from 10 vessels to 6 vessels), as well as an increase in postage rates (from $0.44 to $0.49).
