This survey is used to update the Census Bureau's list of businesses and provides key source
data for County Business Patterns and other statistical series. Businesses use the data for
analyzing markets, developing sales and advertising programs, setting sales quotas, and
determining site locations. Government agencies use the data for regional analysis and
economic planning.
Please complete and return the enclosed form within 30 days after receipt. See the
reverse side of this letter for general instructions. You may use reasonable estimates if book
figures are not readily available.
Title 13, United States Code, Sections 182 and 224, requires your response to this inquiry and
Section 9 guarantees that your response is confidential and will be used only for statistical
purposes.
