Abstract: On August 25, 2000, the Federal Communications Commission released a Report and Order, "The Establishment of Policies and Service Rules for the Mobile Satellite Service in the 2 GHz Band," IB Docket No. 99-81, FCC 00-302. The rulemaking required that the applicants in the 2 GHz mobile satellite service amend their applications to include information concerning orbital debris mitigation measures. In addition, licensees are required to submit milestone reports to insure adherence to milestone schedules set forth in the authorizations.
