Abstract: Federally-permitted vessels in the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery are required to identify their vessels by displaying their official number. The number is used by NOAA, the U.S. Coast Guard, and other agencies for fishery enforcement activities. Vessel identification requirements are set forth in the regulations implementing the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fisheries Management Plan at 50 CFR 660 Subpart C.

Short Statement: Adjustment: Based on current permit numbers and estimates of participation, there is a net of 30 fewer respondents and responses (7 additional limited entry vessels and 37 fewer open access vessels) and 23 fewer hours. There is a net increase of $7,625 in costs; although fewer vessels need numbers, the cost of materials per vessel has increased from $35 to $40.
