Short Statement: The reduction in the burden due to less usage of this form. Regulations promulgated in 2008 authorized private loan holders to process requests for release of liability on all loans, using their own form. This has resulted in a decrease in the number of cases handled by VA and a corresponding drop in the number of forms.
