Abstract: The active surveillance driven STD Surveillance will provide detailed information on demographic characteristics, behavioral risk factors, and clinical history of persons who attend STD clinics in one of 12 cities in the US. This information will enable public health officials to understand important characteristics of persons tested for STDs and develop interventions that will decrease STD transmission.
