Short Statement: FACES 2009 is the fifth cohort for this ongoing study of Head Start. A new sample of Head Start programs, centers, children, and families will be selected and followed longitudinally for 2-3 years. The sample design, data collection procedures, and instrumentation for FACES 2009 are mostly the same as those used in FACES 2006, and while a few new measures have been added to address current policies, the respondent burden is slightly lower due to increased efficiencies.
