DOD will provide statistical method reports to address sampling, weighting, and non-response rate issues on the 2008 Post-Election Survey of Overseas and Post-Election Survey of Local Election Officials.
In addition, DOD will coordinate efforts to identify overlap with their Post-Election Survey of Overseas and Post-Election Survey of Local Election Officials, and the Election Assistance Commissions subsequent Election Administration & Voting Survey to avoid duplicative efforts.

Under 42 USC 1973ff, a post-election survey of overseas citizens (not affiliated with the Federal Government) and local election officials is required. A report then goes to the President and the Congress by the end of each year after a Presidential election on the effectiveness of assistance of the Federal Voting Assistance Program, including a statistical analysis of voter participation and a description of state-Federal cooperation.
