Abstract: ED needs these data to determine 1) the extent to which CCAMPIS grantees are better able than similar postsecondary institutions to provide child care services to low-income students; 2) if data are available to determine if these services improve these students' persistence and graduation rates. Data collected from child care directors at grantee and non-grantee institutions will be used to monitor and improve the CCAMPIS program. The data will be useful in several ways. Policymakers will be able to use the information in deciding how to fund child care services at postsecondary institutions. Postsecondary institutions may be encouraged to offer more child care services for low- income students. The data will also support additional research on childcare services by others interested in improving persistence in and graduation from postsecondary institutions among low-income students with young children.

This is based on 80 percent of the 604 Phase II sample members completing the survey, giving us 483 Phase II respondents.
