40 CFR part 63, Subparts JJ, applies to owners and operators of both new and existing wood furniture manufacturing operations that are major sources of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Owners and operators must submit: notification of initial performance test, notification of any physical or operational change to an existing facility, performance test measurements and results, notification of demonstration of the continuous monitoring system (CMS), and occurrence and duration of any startup, shutdown, or malfunction in the operation of an affected facility. Respondents are also required to submit semiannual compliance reports and to perform recordkeeping activities. The information is used to determine that all sources subject to the rule are complying with the standards.
