Abstract: This survey will be used to verify the existence of special district government units, obtain current addresses, and identify new government units for the 2007 Census of Govern- ments. Respondents consist of approximately 1,500 active counties, consolidated city-county governments, and independent cities in the Nation. We will send listings of current special districts to local officials, and request that they update the lists to ensure complete coverage of special districts in the 2007 Census.
