Abstract: A science based diabetes prevention curriculum for American Indian school children is currently being developed by a collaboration among eight tribal colleges and universities. The project is co-funded by CDC and NIH/NIDDK. The curriculum is designed to provide information and skills that will lead to a reduction in the incidence and impact of diabetes and promote an interest in science and health careers among tribal school children.
