Abstract: This survey is used to collect and maintain information about the boundaries, names, and governmental status of counties and equivalent entities, minor civil divisions (MCDs), municipalities, Federally recognized American Indian (AI) reservations, and off-reservation trust lands, and Alasksa Native Regional Corporations, and to provide accurate indentification of these geographic areas for the decennial and economic census, other statistical programs of the Census Bureau, and legislative programs of the Federal Government. Respondents are county, MCD, municipal, and AI tribal officials.
