NCHS shall submit to OMB (email is acceptable) all requests to conduct pilot studies, methodological research, or new SLAITS modules. OMB will respond with an approval, disapproval, or passback within 10 calendar days. Once a passback is received, time to obtain approval may exceed 10 days so NCHS should plan accordingly. OMB shares NCHS concerns about possible falling response rates. Therefore, NCHS should keep OMB apprised of any problems in achieving acceptable response rates.
