Terms of Clearance: Approved for one year with the following terms: (1) The race and ethnicity question shall be revised to comply with OMB Directive 15. (2) This study utilizes a purposive list sample that includes only certain Asian surnames. The sample will not reflect the entire population of Asian Americans in the Los Angeles PMSA and the findings cannot be generalized to this target population. (3) The results of this sample should not be compared to the nationally representative samples of Hispanics or Blacks from previous YMC surveys. Comparisons of these groups may invite inappropriate generalizations.

Abstract: This data collection will assess the effects of the CDC's Youth Media Campaign Asian-specific advertising on Asian American parents and youth (aged 9-13) in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles is a high-dose campaign community in which concentrated campaign activities have been implemented. This outcome evaluation is designed to assess the extent to which changes in target audience knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors related to engagement in healthful, positive activities can be attributed to exposure to the campaign.
