Terms of Clearance: Questions AW61, Food 3 through AW78, Food 20 are not approved for inclusion in this module. However, Census can provide to OMB additional justification that addresses the practical utility, analysis plan, and user needs associated with the request to collect Food Security measures on SIPP. This justification must be submitted within 10 days of this approval. Approval is also granted to add back to this module the food sufficiency questions used in the 1996 SIPP panel. OMB is also interested in possibly reinstating questions on enrichment activities including religious activities in either Wave 9 or the 2004 panel. Census should keep OMB informed of plans to include these kinds of questions on other demographic surveys and should submit a plan to OMB for their inclusion in SIPP if they are included in other surveys.

Abstract: This survey will provide improved statistics for the executive and legislative branches on income distribution, and data not previously available on eligibility for and participation in government programs. Changes in status and participation will be measured over time. These data will support policy and program planning. All persons 15 years or older in sample households are interviewed.
