Terms of Clearance: Approved consistent with ED's memo of 12/3/98. In addition, the following terms of clearance apply: 1) Within 1 year of this clearance, ED will provide institutions with guidance/ information on how the Secretary will make authorization decisions with respect to which institutions can use the multi-year functionality of the note. Prior to issuing such guidance/information, ED will submit it for OMB review. 2) ED will make every effort, by the next submission of this package to OMB, to remove all institution numeric identifiers from the form in favor of a single identifier - the D-U-N-S. 3) In the next submission of this package, ED will update OMB on both the initiative to revise the prom notes to make them more user friendly and the initiative to combine the DL and FFELL master prom notes.
