Abstract: Changes to the Communications Act related to the privatization of ship inspections of large cargo and small passenger vessels allows FCC-licensed technicians to do these inspections. This change greatly reduced administrative burden on the public and the Commission without adversely affecting the safety of life on certain United States vessels.
