Terms of Clearance: This ICR is approved for three years. Before resubmission of this ICR for extension, the agency should revisit the estimate of the number of respondents and demonstrate to OMB that the estimates are consistent with agency experience. In addition, the agency should revise wage estimates to reflect guidance provided by EPA and/or OMB, especially with respect to appropriate calculation of wage overhead. The agency should respond to public comment received, specifically addressing the suggestion that burden reduction may be achieved by allowing visual inspection of fabric filters instead of performance tests.

Abstract: Owners or operators of subject facilities must notify EPA of construction, reconstruction, modification, anticipated and actual startup, dates, and must provide both notification of and the results of performance tests. Records must be maintained of the performance test results, startups, shutdowns, and malfunctions to ensure compliance with the standards.
