Abstract: Rule 17Ad-21T limits the activities of non-bank transfer agents with material Year 2000 problems. The rule requires that transfer agents must be operationally capable and prevents non-bank transfer agents with material Year 2000 problems from performing certain activities after August 31, 1999. Rule 17AD-21T(g) provides that non-bank transfer agents must make and keep a backup copy of its data base and file layouts for each business day beginning August 31, 1999, and ending on March 31, 2000.
