Terms of Clearance: This represents a one-time collection that the FCC is using to facilitate resolution of a large number of conflicts that are pending at the Commission. Should the FCC desire to extend this collection for three years, they must comply with the requirements of 5 CFR 1320. Also -- the FCC should inform affected parties whether the materials they provide under this collection will be made available to the public for inspection. The public should be informed that the FCC will allow redaction of certain business confidential information.

Abstract: This collection requires parties to certain settlement agreements to obtain Commission approval before the settlement can take place. Each request for approval of a settlement must contain specific additional information and must also include a list of all applications and pleadings that were filed in the contested case or copies of them. Also, requests must include a summary of the contested case to include a full explanation of the issues raised in the case. Finally, if the case involves an alleged violation of the rules, it must include either a waiver or a statement as to why a violation didn't or wouldn't occur.
