Abstract: The Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1998 requires that newly constructed multifamily dwelling covered under the Act, available for occupancy after March 13, 1991, be designed and constructed to be accessible to persons with disabilities. The purpose of this project is to assess the extent of conformity with the accessiblity requirements and to examine reasons and any explanations for different patterns of conformity/non-conformity.
