Terms of Clearance: The FCC will make the following changes to the proposed FCC 610: a) Provide more specific citation of the Commission's authority to collect this information; b) clearly state that supplying this information is required in order to obtain this license; c) revise the burden associated with this form to 20 minutes from ten; d) ensure that the information collected using the form is adequately protected from improper disclosure to the public, particularly any information pertaining to an applicant's medical history; e) add page numbers to the form and instructions; f) clarify differences between license revocation under 47 USC 312 and forfeiture under 46 USC 503; g) ensure certification statements contained on the form are consistent with FCC's statutory authority; h) ensure that the Privacy Act statement adheres to 5 USC 552, including the routine use statement. FCC will provide revised draft form to OMB. Following OMB review the FCC will have permission to delete the expiration date from this form, provided a date of issue is added to the form.

Commission personnel use the data to determine eligibility for a radio station authorization and to issue a radio station/operator license. Data is used by compliance personnel in conjunction with field engineers for enforcement and interference purposes.
