Abstract: Title 10 U.S.C. 505 and 12102 establishes minimum standards for enlistment, appointment, and induction into the Armed Forces. Medical standards were developed which address the acceptability of persons and define deviations from these standards. Those medical fitness standards provide sufficient detail and ensure uniformity in the physical qualifications of candidates for enlistment, appointment, and induction into the military service.
