Abstract: THIS SURVEY ENABLES THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO MEET THE RESPONSIBILITIES MANDATED BY P.L. 96-479 AND TO INFORM THE CONGRESS OF DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MINERALS INDUSTRIES, INCLUDING POTENTIAL CRISES THEREIN. THE INFORMATION IS PUBLISHED IN THE BUREAU OF MINES PUBLICATIONS FOR USE BY PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. THE RESPONDENTS ARE PRODUCERS AND CONSUMERS OF INDUSTRIAL MINERALS.
