Abstract: THE FCC HAS ISSUED A NOTICE OF INQUIRY TO EVALUATE VARIOUS MEANS OF PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT TELEPHONE SERVICE IN AREAS WITH HIGH COSTS OF SERVICE. THE COLLECTED DATA WILL BE USED TO ESTIMA THE FINANCIAL EFFECTS OF IMPLEMENTING VARIOUS ALTERNATIVES. THE RESPONDENTS CONSIST OF APPROXIMATELY 1,439 TELEPHONE CARRIERS.
