Abstract: PUBLIC LAW 98-474 REQUIRES CIGARETTE MANUFACTURERS, PACKAGERS, AND IMPORTERS TO SUBMIT A LIST OF THE INGREDIENTS ADDED TO TOBACCO IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CIGARETTES. THIS LIST SHOULD INCLUDE EACH INGREDIENT ADDITIVE, ALONG WITH ITS COMMON NAME, CHEMICAL NAME, AND CHEMICAL ABSTRACT NUMBER (CAS) AND BE SUBMITTED TO THE SECRETARY, DHHS.
