Abstract: THE ECONOMIC CENSUSES, CONDUCTED UNDER PROVISIONS OF TITLE 13, UNITED STATES CODE, SECTIONS 131 AND 224, CONSTITUTE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF FACTS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF A LARGE SEGMENT OF THE ECONOMY AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS, AN THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THEY PROVIDE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE FRAMEWORK F THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS AND SERVE AS BENCHMARKS FOR ECONOMIC INDICATORS.
