Abstract: THIS SURVEY CANVASSES STATE AND LOCAL GOVENMENTS BY MAIL FOR DATA ON GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT, PAY, BENEFIT COSTS, AND LABOR RELATIONS. RESULTS ARE USED FOR OTHER FEDERAL STATISTICAL PROGRAMS (COMPUTATION O GNP, PERSONAL INCOME, ETC.), FOR DETERMINING FEDERAL GRANT ALLOCATIONS FOR LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH, AND FOR GENERAL STATISTICAL PURPOSES.
