Terms of Clearance: The effort to track response rates by business size helped identify problems among small businesses. The Census Bureau is to be commended both for tracking the problem and developing a strategy (more short forms) for resolving it. We would like to see more detailed analysis response pursued in other economic surveys as well.

Abstract: THE CENSUS OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES IS CONDUCTED EVERY 5 YEARS AS PA OF THE ECONOMIC CENSUSES. THE DATA FROM THIS CENSUS IS USED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE FRAMEWORK FOR THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS, INPUT-OUT MEASURES, KEY ECONOMIC INDEXES, AND OTHER COMPOSITE MEASURES OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITIY.
