Abstract: THIS PROGRAM SUPPLIES THE KEY MEASURES OF MANUFACTURING ACTIVITY FOR INTERCENSAL YEARS. ITS RESULTS ARE WIDELY USED AS A BENCHMARK FOR OTH STATISTICAL PROGRAMS, INCLUDING THE FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD'S INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION, THE BUREAU OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS' ESTIMATES OF THE GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE'S ANNUAL PUBLICATION "INDUSTRIAL OUTLOOK."
